Storefronts

A front that looks cared for, finished before you open

A storefront is the one wall your customers read every day. Ours is a wash, scrape, prime and two coats, done in the hours the shop is shut, with the front cleared and walked before you open.

We paint the frame of your awning and leave its fabric to your awning maker. If your landlord controls the color, we help you get the approval in writing.

On most fronts

  • Walls, doors, window trim and cornices

  • Roll-up doors, security gates and rails

  • Awning and canopy frames

  • Color matched to a chip or your existing wall

The steps

What goes into a front

The same order every time, because the order is what makes paint last by the sea.

  • Look at the wall

Tap, probe and photograph. Rot, cracks and failed caulk go in the estimate.

  • Cover what stays

Glass, signs, hardware, plants and the sidewalk.

  • Wash and scrape

Fresh water, then scrape to a firm edge.

  • Prime what is bare

Bare wood, stucco patches and metal get primer the same night.

  • Finish coats

Two coats, with the data sheet's recoat time between them.

  • Walk it with you

Touch-ups, sign-off and a note of what to leave alone.

Frames and metal

The parts that rust first

Awning frames, gates and rails fail from the inside out in salt air. We treat the rust, prime the metal and coat it.

  • Awning and canopy frames

Scraped, treated and coated. Your awning maker removes or masks the fabric; we agree the night with them.

  • Roll-up doors and gates

Rust removed back to sound metal, primed, then finished.

  • Rails and bollards

Handrails, stair rails and bollards at the entry.

About storefront jobs

How long does a storefront take?

A single front is usually one to three nights, depending on size, how much prep it needs and the weather. The written plan gives a range for your front, not a promised date.

Do you paint metal gates, rollers and awning frames?

Yes. We scrape and treat rust, prime bare metal and finish with a coating made for the coast. We paint the frame, not the fabric; your awning maker handles fabric.

Who buys the paint, and which paint is it?

We buy it. The estimate names the product and sheen for each surface. Ask for the product data sheet and we will send it.

Can you match our brand color?

We match to a chip, a sample or an existing wall and put the color name on the estimate. A sample patch goes on in daylight before we order the whole job.

Plan your front

Tell us when you close and when you open, and text a photo of the front. We will call to set a walk-through.
